LEAWOOD. This classy restaurant is a near-perfect seafood standard. The dining room features a gorgeous, stained-glass dome that's only part of the restaurant's claim to fame. A visit to Bristol wouldn't be complete without at least a nibble of the sweet drop biscuits that have helped put the place on the map! Bristol also serves terrific crab cakes, wonderful grilled fish, and a sinful array of desserts. A great wine list and individualized service top off the experience.

COUNTRY CLUB PLAZA. Named a "Grand Award" winner by <i>Wine Spectator</i> for its superb vintages, this KC favorite also earns high marks for excellent service and intimate atmosphere. Steak and seafood make strong appearances on the menu, but you'll also find great appetizers (like Paco's Shrimp, bacon-wrapped and horseradish-tinged) and homemade pastas studded with mussels, salmon, tuna, and other savory ingredients. Great for a business meeting or special occasion.

COUNTRY CLUB PLAZA. Dark woods, crisp white tablecloths, and deep, comfortable booths contribute to this restaurant's upscale, elegant atmosphere. More than 30 types of seafood are flown in daily, resulting in incredibly fresh dishes and an ever-changing menu. Halibut, salmon, tilapia, mahi mahi, and Dungeness crab are favorites. Salads, soups, and pastas provide alternatives if you're not in the mood for fruits de la mer. Don't skip dessert ­ the Chocolate Bag, a unique creation involving chocolate and plenty of berries, is not to be missed.

DOWNTOWN. Named after railroad magnate John Pierpont Morgan and located in refurbished Union Station, this fine restaurant is an excellent choice any time of day. At lunch, try a crab cake melt sandwich, a grilled shrimp spinach salad, or even a "small plate" option like macaroni and lobster with fresh asparagus. DOWNTOWN. The menu at The Savoy Grill includes some of the best steak and seafood offerings to be found in Kansas City. The restaurant boasts superior service from a classically attired waitstaff, who are both attentive and professional. For an authentic experience, enjoy plump lobsters and cooked-to-order steaks while lounging in an old fashioned booth like the one Harry Truman favored on his frequent visits to the eatery.
